The first reason for success is one man, Hitler.  Hitler single handedly formed the Nazi party.  He was all that they had.  In a time when people were thought to follow, he chose instead to lead.  He used all of his abilities to his advantage, and hid his weaknesses expertly.  He used his wits, charms, and interpersonal skills to his full advantage; He realized the power of the people, and of propaganda.  Never before and never since has any country ever seen someone so polluted be accepted, and even loved by so many people.  Hitler was a great man for sure, but not a good man.  He demands respect at the very least.

The second reason for Germanys success was World War I.  The people were hurt deeply by the war, and they took it personally.  They came up with the what ifs.  What if I had have done more?  What if I had have fought?  They were offered a scapegoat, the Jewish people, and so they took it.  Germany was not a happy place for anyone and the only way out was to fight their way out so they did.  You could even argue that the war was inevitable do to the circumstances.

Why did the Germans ultimately fail?  When people decide to resist, and fight for what they know is right, although poorly portrayed by the media, good always will triumph over evil.  It may seem like a bit fluffy, but never has evil been able to control the good will of people and that is why it never will triumph over good.

Racism, and hatred are no longer acceptable in our society, and when things start to lean away we need to give ourselves a reality check and say what are you doing.  We can never be afraid to stand up for what is right; it’s the meaning for everyone’s existence.  May the day never come were our children don’t know that these are the ways that we need to act.

May the day never come when we are completely desensitized to the feelings of others.  I feel now more complete for having done this project.  Holocaust timeline It truly has been a life altering experience.  I have already seen changes in my life.  Judging others is futile, because they are judging you right back.  Look apon their differences and celebrate that they might rejoice in your differences as well.

We are told of many heroic attempts by the Jewish people to escape from the work camps.  One woman in particular who, when told to disrobe, wiped off her garment hitting and S.S.  officer in the eyes.  She then snatched his revolver and shot him and another S.S.  officer.  Many more of these heroic stories were poping up all over, but I doubt any lived to tell the stories themselves.

The Jewish people in the ghettos also rebelled in three of the five ghettos mentioned.  The ghettos did well to do any damage to the Germans as they were armed with just handguns, machine guns, and Molotov Cocktails.  The Jewish people killed a few Nazis and managed to hold out, for a little while at least.  In the fight a handful of Jewish people managed to escape to the woods and to secret rebellious groups.

The Germans had a few major tools in these conflicts.  They could shell the Jewish people from a distance using mortars to demolish buildings.  The Nazis also would burn the homes of the Jewish people forcing them into the open.  Also, the Jewish people had no way of getting food from the outside, because the Germans could cut off the supply lines, which they controlled anyway.

In the prison camps few rebellions took place due to the power of the Nazis and also to the weakened state of the Jewish people, but in on one occasion in 1943 a group of Jewish people teamed up against their German oppressors and fought back.  They were successful in killing the S.S.  guards, and they destroyed the compound.  By the end of the war 40 of the 600 who escaped remained alive. holocaust timeline

I know I’d rather die fighting than lying down.  To have loved and lost is better than to have never loved at all.  In the same respect, to have fought and died is better than to have never fought at all.

Hitler an the Nazis believed that the Jewish people were a weaker race then the Arians, and that they were holding Germany back from achieving its full potential. He said that they were parasites preying on the good will of the Germans, and that the Germans actually had to stand up to them.

Hitler also said that the Jewish people were a plague. Fearing this plague required extermination for the survival of their families. If a group of people were endangering the life of my family I think I would respond the same way as the everyday German people.

“The Jewish people are plotting behind our backs” was another excuse why the elimination of the Jewish people was necessary. “They are out to ruin us.” The Germans actually thought that the Jewish people were out to get them for no reason.

The final reason Hitler gave for the extermination of the Jewish people was that they forced Germany to go to war. No one really wanted to go to war and if your husbands, brothers, sons and friends were being killed because of something someone else did I would too be enraged.

All of the reasons come down to one; the Germans were scared of the Jewish people. That’s how all racism starts, it is with fear. Fear of being different. Fear of being an outcast. Fear of losing everything. When people get theses fears they have a need and a tendency to pass that blame on to someone weaker then themselves and try to justify it. holocaust timeline

When it all comes down to it the Jewish people did nothing wrong than be different and follow their beliefs, but Hitler and the Nazis used propaganda to its full capability and made it seem like the Jewish people had wronged the Germans.

People are all different. It’s the common bonds that we have that make us truly unique though. A smart white male, is completely different that a smart black male. They are so different yet so the same.

Hitler knew that all he needed to do to conquer Europe is take England, the only real power at the time. He knew also that they would join the war almost immediately. He didn’t want to divide his forces by fighting on two fronts so he aligned himself with Stalin and Russia to protect his back. Once he conquered the weaker European countries he planned on mobilizing against France and once he had taken that he would move on England. Finally his last real adversary in Europe was Russia, who he didn’t expect to hold out for very long. He then would have conquered all of Europe, and effectively the entire world.

To his enemies he showed no mercy and gave them no quarter. Since he had the complete loyalty of his troops there was really no threat from within, although his paranoia often kicked in and he felt the need to have a commanding officer shot.

The real loss to Hitler’s reign came in two parts. First his loss to the Allies came in Great Britain when his air force was decimated, giving the Allies the new advantage in the air, but he still have the most powerful army in the war. His second and probably most foolish loss was to the “weak” Soviets. He miscalculated terribly and sent his troops into Russia not realizing that they had a great advantage, the winter. Hitler’s men froze to death, food was scarce, and morale was low. After these events the war was not looking so good for the Germans, so Hitler did what he has always done best pass the blame. He blamed the Jewish people and foreigners for the loss and went after them with a renewed passion.

Smart people do dumb things. Napoleon did it as did Hitler. One miscalculation can holocaust concentration camps throw off the whole picture no matter how clear it is. History also does repeat itself. Like a caring mother, it keeps telling us things until we learn.

Peace. What a wonderful thought, we’ve been striving for it for millions of years now, but has it come? No! We need to stop thinking of peace as the only choice. With every act of submission we make towards Germany peace doesn’t come closer, it becomes less obtainable.

Germany is trying to once again take control of the world; we cannot stand idly by and let this happen. We must fight the tyranny. We must fight the oppression. We must fight Hitler. The Nazis cannot win, they must not. We must not yield to them. Violence is rarely the answer, but here it is the only choice.

Peace will come when one of two things happen, when we beat the Germans into the ground and don’t let them up, or when they do the same to us. It’s a dog eat dog world. Only one can survive, will it be them or us?

If Germany is allowed to enter Czechoslovakia untouched then nothing will stop them from trying their luck with France, and then England, and then the world will be theirs, this is something we cannot allow to happen, we will not allow to happen. We have two choices stand and fight, maybe die, or we can run and live, for a while at least, but one day when your sitting at home do you want to be teaching your grandchildren that their parents were killed standing up to Nazis. Perhaps though you would rather have your children tell them you died saving them from the Nazis like a hero. I know what I will choose.

When people stand by and watch things happen they are helping weather they think so or not. I just now had an epiphany that that was the real problem with Canada’s stand in Iraq. I have never supported the war in Iraq, and never will, but by standing on the sidelines we are almost standing with Iraq. holocaust concentration camps

Churchill and Hitler both saw many things about the war in common. They both knew it would be a hard fought battle and a struggle. They both agreed that Germany was very powerful. Now the fact they didn’t both agree on, which no one ever agrees on in war, is who is on the morale side. Hitler thought he was right and Churchill thought he was a madman. Churchill thought that Hitler was being unfair by breaking the treaty, but Hitler saw the treaty as unfair in the first place.

Most people weren’t threatened by Germany probably because of World War I. Germany was defeated then, and they will be now. Many people were also naive to the actual size of the German Army. People assumed that Germany had kept its word in the treaty of Versailles, keeping its men down, and not acquiring an air force. We know this was not the case.

Churchill was right about everything, he knew Hitler was no fool, and wouldn’t invade Poland without sufficient forces to fight of Poland’s Big Brothers. Churchill refused to underestimate the power of the Nazis, but really I don’t think even he could see them for the power they truly had.

Although not underestimating the Germans Churchill dint get that confused with respecting them, he saw them as less then the English, much like Hitler’s opinions on other races. Churchill thought the Germans were being foolish in their demands, but he didn’t see the determination in the faces of the men willing to fight and die for Germany, and Hitler.

Once again we are going into a world war with both sides assured of victory, and this one is truly impossible to call. If the countries wish to defeat Germany they will have to band together, and stand up against Germany. One thing is for sure the Germans weren’t prepared to accept the terms of the treaty any long, and were willing to fight against it holocaust timeline.

Churchill is a refreshing reminder that not everyone is to pig headed to see what the truth in something really is. Thanks God there are people who can think for themselves.

Men in the factories could refuse to pledge allegiance and then they would lose their jobs and their families would starve, or they could be “good Germans” and keep their jobs, at the cost of their integrity. When weighed integrity against your family your integrity has little meaning. Sure there was a possibility that others would stand with you but who is willing to risk their life thinking that maybe someone else will risk theirs along with you.

The women also had little choice, after all they were women. They had few decisions and there is nothing that a woman considers more when she makes a decision than her children. No woman would take a risk of her child’s life for freedom for someone else, that would be foolish.

If there was any group with less choices then women it was children, they could not join the little Hitler fan club, but that was more a decision by their parents than their own. Children could speak out all they wanted, they were still just children.

With Germany set up the way it was it was inevitable for someone like Hitler, with a party like the Nazis to come along and make a disturbance, there was no way for the people to stop it. Everyone had something to lose, and no one was willing to take the first step in opposition of Hitler. If one person had stepped forward maybe their family would have been killed, but two more men would step forward in their place until all of German rose up, but that’s the problem with us, no on is ever willing to go first.

I imagine this was a very hard place for some people to be, but they were there holocaust timeline. It’s easy to criticize these men for not stepping forward but I doubt any man would sacrifice his family for anything.

Sometimes people realize thing, but often too late to change anything, or so they think. Sometimes people need to put their foot down and say stop if they get rolled over, then they get rolled over. It is a chance people need to take to do what’s right.

First your place in the nation.  The Nazis made it clear that men needed to work and fight for the glory of Germany.  If you weren’t in the army, then you should be in a factory slaving away.  You should do both things to the best of your ability, and strive to be better at all things you do.  Since the men all weighed their honor on their contribution to their country they did this.

Women were told that their place was to serve men and make babies.  The Germans supported the stereotypical housewife, with many children, a neat house, and dinner ready for her husband when he got home from work.

Children were told that they need to learn about what was right and what is wrong.  An emphasis was placed on being stronger and standing out among the other children.  A good child was good to his parents and loved the Fuhrer.

Secondly the Nazis said that Hitler under all circumstances was right.  No ifs ands or buts.  The people accepted this because they liked, trusted, and believed in Hitler canadian currency.  Hitler essentially established an absolute monarchy with many of the regulations his government implemented.

The Nazis taught people what to think and how to act, creating a group of cold hearted, almost robotic people.  Holocaust timeline There is no question that these rules will bring about something big, good or bad something will inevitably happen.

Most people are sheep.  When Hitler or someone like him is put at the head of the flock it is disastrous.  One day I hope people might make decisions on their own.

Things here in Germany are growing worse by the day.  The Nazi’s hate propaganda, and meaningless acts of violence are horrifying, and what’s worse, their ranks are swelling steadily by the day.

Today I witnessed a speech by a man by the name of Hitler.  It was truly horrifying.  There were thousands of people congregating and so I decided I’d go see just what was happening.  As it turns out I had stumbled in on a Nazi rally, where the man I mentioned, Hitler, was going to speak.  At first it was fairly peaceful.  Hitler spoke some on his 25-point program.

The 25-point program is something Hitler is trying to implement in Germany, basically striping foreigners and Jewish people of many of their freedoms.  Saying that no person not of German blood can be considered a member of the state.  This accordingly takes away basic necessities.  For example things like food, in times of famine will not be given to foreigners or Jewish people.

After Hitler had finished this he grew a little more passionate when he got on the topic of the war.  He said it was a disgrace to Germany, and pinned the blame for the loss on the non-patriotic nature of the Jewish people.  He said had they fought along side of the Germans instead of aiding the enemy victory would have been inevitable.  I later asked around and no one could think of any Jewish people who had aided the enemy, the people I asked said they just knew the Jewish people did.

The roar of the mass of people grew almost deafening when Hitler began to scream about how the Jewish people hated the Germans and how they were all plotting behind the backs of the people of Germany.  He called on the people to try to “convince” the Jewish people to aid the land that they were being “allowed” to live in by any means necessary holocaust dates.  Everyone was yelling and screaming, chanting Hitler’s name over and over.  I felt quite fortunate to escape with my life.

Things in Germany grow worse by the day and if I had the money I would return home immediately.  I fear soon there will be complete chaos and they will sweep through the towns killing anyone not of “true German blood” that they can find.  This frightens me immensely.

During the war Hitler seemed to still strongly believe in the cause, although his sprits were as dampened as his boots.  He didn’t find it enjoyable or fun, merely something that had to be done.  He writes of the miserable conditions but doesn’t seem to really complain about them.  I think this is because of his patriotism.

The end of the war and the surrender of Germany came as a hard blow to Hitler in his hospital bed on November 10th 1918.  He, as many people, had become comfortable in the trenches, and almost went crazy at the thought of returning home.  Like many Germans, Hitler didn’t see the war ending so abruptly and it tore him apart inside.

At then end of the war I’m sure Hitler’s hate for the Jewish people had intensified, but now he probably began to resent all foreigners, blaming them for the loss of the war.  I think before the war he hated Jewish people and outsiders at like a 7/10 but after the war it was almost a blinding hate, like a 10/10.
